African Business Access ("@ba") was created in 1999 by the merger of the established consulting business of Paul Williams (Gemini Capital Projects) and the corporate venturing activities of John Cooper (Cogitate & Mull) under the chairmanship of Cyril Ramaphosa. Prior to that the principals within @ba had been active in Western, Central and Eastern Europe since 1979. In April 2005 Iain Bain joined @ba Consulting from UKTI bringing with him 24 years experience as British Vice Consul (Commercial) and Trade Development Adviser with UK Trade & Investment in South Africa.
@ba is a specialist consultancy focussed on inward investment from the EU into the Southern African Region and corporate activity within the SME sector.
In acknowledgement of its track record on client delivery, @ba has been contracted by UK Trade & Investment, DESO (UK Ministry of Defence), Invest Northern Ireland, CDE (Centre for Development of Enterprise) and others to assist with the delivery of their Programmes in the Region.
